Olympia is the famous old Olympic town where the now world-renowned Olympic Games used to take place in antiquity. This town attracts visitors mainly for its rich archaeological heritage that includes the ancient Olympic ground and over 70 temples, treasuries, and structures dedicated to the Greek gods, including Zeus. Lovely day trips on the Aegean Sea are about half an hour’s drive from here, and the closest international airport, Kalamatas, is approximately 1.5 hours car ride away from this holiday house in Olympia. Given the properties uphill location, access is via a narrow & somewhat winding road for approx 600 mt. It is advisable therefore to arrive during daylight hours to be able to fully familiarise yourself with the roadway- maybe not suitable for inexperienced drivers.
